Our Story

On the Mend Physical Therapy was started in 2006 by Dr. Katrina Herron, PT, DPT, CLT. After witnessing her grandmother receive less than acceptable care from a local home health company, Katrina recognized a great need for quality physical therapy services in the community and knew she could help. The company began with Katrina providing services through contracts with local home health agencies.

In 2007, the first On the Mend Physical Therapy clinic opened in Mesa. The company experienced rapid growth from 2007 to 2010 due to high-level service offerings. Katrina’s husband, Chuck Herron, left his regular full-time job in 2010 to work for On the Mend Physical Therapy full-time. This allowed the company to continue to expand, adding a second clinic in 2013.

In 2013, Cathy Best, OT, started with the company as a staff clinician. She gradually began to take on additional leadership duties over the next five years; and, in 2018 became a partner. Since 2006, On the Mend Physical Therapy has served people in the community by providing excellent quality, results-driven care for the absolute best outcomes.

As a past athlete, Chuck personally saw how physical therapy and occupational therapy helped athletes stay on the field. Now Chuck watches as On the Mend keeps patients on the field of life every single day. Motivated by the desire to make sure the residents of Mesa and Chandler can keep hiking, swimming and playing with their children, Chuck strives for excellence. Patients who no longer depend on others and can continue doing the things they love are his reward. As the CEO of On the Mend, Chuck is always striving to find ways to improve his business, working hard to continue delivering outstanding services and outcomes. As a father of four, he and his wife, Katrina, stay busy every weekend with multiple youth sports leagues, hiking and camping in the area.
